We all know the big superstars in the UFC, from McGregor to Rousey, but are there any up-coming fighters that might dominate this year? Every year, we meet new, out-of-nowhere fighters that challenge famous superstar fighters and steal their division's champion title. This year will certainly be no different, so make sure you remember the following 5 promising UFC names that you might start seeing quite often in magazines and on the Internet.
Arnold “Almighty” Allen
This British UFC fighter was once blackmailed to be thrown out of his own house if he fail to lift 200kg-deadlift and today, he is one of the most promising UFC talents. Arnold Allen “the Almighty” has began training mixed martial arts at teenager years and became a pro in 2012. Currently, this young prospect is on a winning streak of 4 wins, including 2 UFC wins. His current MMA record is 11:1 and Arnold is just getting started.
“Super” Sage Northcutt
The undefeated American kick-boxer, Sage Northcutt, is definitely one of the most promising names in the UFC world for 2016. Ever singe the age of 4, Sage has been training to be a champion. With 15-0 record in kick boxing and many international wins in karate, he decided to join the UFC. In 2015, Sage Northcutt made his official debut in the UFC and created a buzz for himself by defeating Francisco Trevino in less than a minute. A couple of months later, “Super” Sage defeated Cody Pfister too and he's done it in only 41 seconds, but in the beginning of this year, he suffered his first defeat. However, it's very likely for him to bounce back and become one of the brightest UFC stars.
Doo Ho Choi, “The Korean Superboy”
After dominating the Japanese MMA organization Deep, Doo Ho Choi joined the UFC and is yet to lose to a UFC fighter. The so-called “Korean Superboy” joined the UFC in 2013 following a nine-fight winning streak and made his debut in 2014 with a KO in a mere of 18 seconds. With 11 KO wins out of 14, this skillful and promising Korean fighter is definitely worth watching this year.
Tom Breese, “The Octopus”
The 24-year-old British UFC fighter competes in the welterweight division of the UFC and holds a MMA record of 10:1. The famous “Octopus” has dropped out of college so he can practice mixed martial arts as much as possible. In 2010, Tom made his debut in BAMMA and won each of his 7 fights. In 2015, he joined the UFC and won his first 3 fights (2 of which with a KO), but in June of 2016, “The Octopus” lost his first MMA match by split decision. But since he's only getting started, we can surely expect Tom Breese to fight his way back on top.
